act of eliminating gas from the body via the ass - as opposed to burping, which is eliminating gas from the body via the mouth. it is considerd to be an offensive act if committed in public, but it is radically entertaining in private. a decent fart is accompanied by a noise, the noise of escaping gas, and a smell, the smell of fetid air. a silent fart is only half a fart, and a silent fart that doesn't smell is a waste of a good fart. the measures of a prize fart are - duration, decibels and toxicity. the latter two measures can be greatly enhanced in a closed space which is the preferred location for a decent fart.
