Located to the extreme southeast of The Lower 48, it is a pennisula that extends downwards and towards Cuba(which is only 90 miles from Key West). The end of Florida peters out into a series of small islands call Keys. This area is called the Florida Keys and consists of an archiepelgo of over 1700 small islands. Florida is extremely prone to being hit by hurricanes, yet is considered a retirement area by many older americans because of its warm climate. Also the site of the infamous 'Spring Break' celebrations in Fort Lauderdale.
