1. it is a media franchise owned by nintendo. pokemon became an instant hit after nintendo released the game pokemon red and green version for the gameboy. after realizing the popularity of these fictional monsters, Nintendo decided to expand pokemon franchise to television series, trading cards, manga, toys, books, and other media. Nintendo has experienced immense success with the pokemon franchise especially during the late 1990s to the early 2000s. however, the pokemon games and television series is still going strong even today.
