In the back wall of a thunderstorm, there is an area of low pressure which starts to rotate. Sometimes, this rotation is fast, and speeds up rapidly. While rotating, the cloud forms a cyclone and the cyclone sucks up dirt, debris and gains in windspeed. Once this small cyclone touches the ground, it turns into a tornado. A tornado is very destructive and can devastate an area in a short period of time. The destructive force of a tornado is measured from a scale of F1-F5.
